Why I Started this Blog

After Baby's birth and the whirlwind of those first few weeks, I found myself searching...desperately...for connection, answers, grace and space. And let me tell you, the postpartum content out there? It's either super clinical or curated perfection. Neither of those helped me figure out how to deal with cluster feeding at 2 a.m. or how to advocate for myself when I was falling apart behind a smile.
So, I created what I couldn't find.

This blog is a love letter...
To the mama crying on the bathroom floor.
To the partner who wants to help but doesn’t know how.
To the friend who’s trying to “be there” but is unsure what to say.
To the new parent wondering why their body feels so unfamiliar.
To the ones who expected magic...and got a mess.
This space is for you. It’s for us.
Why I Write
I write to share the parts of my story that don’t make it to baby books or filtered Instagram posts. I write so new parents don’t feel as alone as I did.
I also write because postpartum support still isn’t where it needs to be, especially for Black, Indigenous, and people of color. We deserve real resources. We deserve safe, culturally aware care. We deserve to be held just as much as we hold everyone else.
And finally? I write because self-care is not a luxury for moms. It’s a necessity. It’s survival. And no…it doesn’t always look like bubble baths or spa days (even though I will absolutely LOVE a day of pamper). Sometimes it looks like boundaries, nourishing food, or letting yourself cry without guilt.

In closing...
If you’ve ever wondered, “Why didn’t anyone tell me this?” you’re in the right place.
This blog isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being present. It’s about being loving. It’s about being honest. Because when we’re honest about the hard stuff, we make room for real healing, real support, and real community.
Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
Love,
